At the company iOTC, we also develop products - both complex assemblies and individual parts. The advantage of our service is that the developer and tool builder work hand in hand, which results in a technologically optimised products. If required, we also involve an industrial designer. We divide product development into four phases:
Our team can become involved in the very phase of the product design, which we strongly recommend. The design itself has a deciding influence on the final price of the product. By involving our developers and toolmakers in the earliest phase, a solution is found, which will be simpler to manufacture at the same functionality level, and, most of all, less expensive. There will be a smaller investment into the tools, which also makes the final product less expensive.
After the establishment of a concept, a detailed construction of the product follows, where we set the final form of the parts and select the most suitable material, as well as production technology. In our company, we are familiar with the work involving free surfaces and we thus have no problem with designing complex surfaces for our products. Our company has accumulated many years of technological experience from the field of tool making and production, so we know, how to design a product and its parts in order to minimise the possibility of production issues and make the initial investment into tools and serial production as inexpensive as possible. Our significant advantage is that our final product is completely optimised in terms of tool making, and that we already define the concepts of serial tools when we complete the development.
Prototype assembly is taken for granted in the development process nowadays. In cooperation with partner companies, we create or acquire a prototype of the product. We also recommend the most suitable technology for the prototype manufacture, in regards to the functionality of your product.
